The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA), affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Saturday convened its 1st Apex Council Meeting-cum-formal handing and taking over ceremony of the newly elected Apex Council for the 2026–2029 tenure at its Conference Room in Kohima.

The newly elected Apex Council comprises Watinuksung Jamir as Hon. President, Khamongo Humtsoe as Vice President, Menguvilie Sakhrie as Hon. Secretary, Nikika G Zhimomi as Joint Secretary, Ketholelie Sogotsu as Hon. Treasurer, and Vezokho Chotso as Apex Council Member.
The meeting marked the official commencement of the new Council’s tenure, with outgoing office-bearers formally handing over responsibilities to the newly elected members. The Association said the transition reflects its commitment to good governance, continuity, and the sustained development of cricket in Nagaland.
Following the meeting, outgoing and incoming Apex Council members paid a courtesy call on Nagaland Chief Minister and Chief Patron of the NCA Dr Neiphiu Rio, along with patrons Abu Metha and KT Sukhalu, expressing gratitude for their guidance and support towards the promotion and development of cricket in the State.
The Association also acknowledged the support of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, stating that it is “indebted to the BCCI for its unwavering support under the dynamic leadership of Shri Devajit Saikia, Hon. Secretary.”
The newly elected Apex Council also visited Sovima Village Council Chairman Sebastian Zumvü to convey gratitude for the village’s continued cooperation in hosting and supporting NCA activities.
The NCA expressed gratitude to the outgoing Apex Council for its service and said it remains committed to strengthening cricket administration, nurturing talent, and promoting the growth of the sport across Nagaland, while upholding transparency and professionalism.
