The Anglers Association Mokokchung (AAM) has announced the 7th AAM Open Angling Competition 2026, scheduled to be held on August 8, 2026, at Shiyong Dam, Aliba.

The competition will feature a total cash prize of Rs 1.30 lakh and is open to angling enthusiasts who wish to test their skills and compete for prizes based on the biggest catch.

Interested participants have been invited to contact the organisers for registration and further details.

The organisers have issued a set of rules and regulations for participants. Prizes will be awarded based on the biggest catch, with each participant eligible for only one prize. Anglers will be allowed to use one rod with a maximum of two hook setups.

The use of chubi, treble hooks, multi hooks, feeder cages and fly lines has been prohibited, with only float fishing permitted. Fish measuring below six inches will not be counted.

Participants will not be allowed to raise objections regarding their allotted pegs, and the organisers will not be responsible for any untoward incidents during or after the event.

The use of alcohol and intoxicating substances will be strictly prohibited. Participants have also been urged to maintain cleanliness and avoid littering the surroundings.

The organisers stated that all anglers must follow the rules and regulations, and any dispute arising during the competition will be settled by the decision of the organisers, which will be final and binding.

The event is being organised by the Anglers Association Mokokchung (AAM).
