The District Welfare Office (DWO), Mokokchung, has informed beneficiaries of Old Age Pension, Widow Pension and Disability Pension under both the State and National pension schemes that pending pension benefits for the 2025-2026 period will be disbursed from July 15.
According to a notification issued by the DWO, the disbursement is meant for beneficiaries who have not received their pension through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The pension will be disbursed at the District Welfare Office during office working hours.
The office stated that beneficiaries who are unable to collect their pension in person may authorise a representative to do so on their behalf. The authorised person must produce a life certificate issued by the beneficiary’s respective church pastor along with the beneficiary’s pension payment book.
In the case of deceased beneficiaries, the authorised person must submit the death certificate, the pension payment book and an authorisation certificate issued by the Village or Ward Council chairman to withdraw the pension benefit.
The DWO urged all eligible beneficiaries and authorised representatives to ensure the required documents are produced at the time of collection to facilitate smooth disbursement.
