Sir,
I hope you are well aware and well informed of the recent destruction of roads in many parts of Nagaland due to heavy monsoon rain. Out of many roads, I would like to emphasis on one particular road i.e. NH-2, that I am well aware of.
On 20th July 2026 few meters of NH-2 was washed away or damaged by landslide under Unger jurisdiction. Fortunately, there is an old narrow link road connecting Unger and Chuchyimlang. However, even after a week, this narrow bypass road cannot be properly repaired for smooth vehicular movement.
As compared to other roads, in this particular section of road NH-2, there are JCB, Road roller and other machinery available for repairing of road (though not free of cost). Besides, there are plenty of stone boulders under Unger jurisdiction and if 40/50 car load of stone boulder are lay on the road and level by the road roller, then by now this narrow bypass road would be smooth for vehicular movement. National Highway Staff and well wishers are doing the best beyond their strength; however there is only limited machinery so their hard work is not progressing as required at this moment.
In this regard Sir, I would like to know is it because of your weakness or the Government of Nagaland that the road is not maintaining as expected after the recent landslide. Even this particular road cannot be maintain where there are easily available materials and machinery, so I am deeply concern and wonder what will be the condition of repairing of roads in far-flung areas where there is no or limited machinery.
Therefore I strongly urge your concern department for allocation of fund, besides financial allocation under State Emergency Fund by the State Government for early repairing of the road.
