Miss Mokokchung 2026 organised by Forerunners Mokokchung under the guidance of the Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN), will feature 11 contestants aged between 18 and 22 under the theme, “Bloom Beyond Boundaries”.
The pageant will be held on August 14 at 6 pm, Mokokchung Town Hall.
The announcement was made during a press conference in Mokokchung, where the organisers outlined the format and plans for this year’s pageant.
Show Director and Co-founder of Talent Foresight, Neitho Khamo said the organisers were working to improve the show following the success of last year’s edition and to set higher standards for pageantry in Mokokchung district. This is Talent Foresight’s second year working together with Forerunners Mokokchung undet the guidance of Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN).
The competition will comprise three rounds – traditional and introduction, dance routine, and evening gown.
Khamo also encouraged young women to participate in the beauty pageant industry, saying efforts were being made to move away from the negative perceptions associated with beauty pageants. He said, over the past 5 to 6 years, so many success have been witnessed and hence, encouraged the young women to step forward into the pageant.
Miss Mokokchung 2026 will also serve as a pathway to the state-level pageant. The winner will receive direct entry to Miss Nagaland, while the runners-up will have an opportunity to audition for the state pageant.
Reflecting on her experience, Miss Mokokchung 2025 Bengangienla Longshir said the journey had not been easy and came with challenges. She said the platform helped her find a purpose through her “Beauty with a Purpose” initiative focused on women empowerment under the theme “Her Voice, Her Power”.
Longshir said the initiative involved reaching out to young children and encouraging them to believe in themselves, voice their thoughts and showcase their talents. She also said the platform helped build her confidence.
The pageant will feature an evening gown designed by HM Hmingmawii and cocktail dresses by Manen Jamir. Sariwar will lead the opening act, while Abdon Mech, Shau Evans, Ningdangri and friends, Elizabeth Khing and others are among the listed performers.
Sashila Ozukum will be the Guest of Honour.
