The NSS unit of Jubilee Memorial College organised “Khelo India Samvaad, Khel Ki Baat PM Ke Saath” on August 27 as part of National Sports Day 2026 celebrations under Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The nationwide virtual programme aimed to encourage youth participation in sports, fitness, discipline and nation-building.

MY Bharat Volunteer AienAmri briefed participants on the programme, followed by screenings on National Sports Day and sports-related messages from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day speech. The main highlight was the Prime Minister’s virtual address on sports, fitness, youth leadership, volunteering and grassroots development of sporting talent.
The second session, Yuva Samvaad, began with a welcome and felicitation by Sashikumzuk Rongsen Longkumer, Convenor of the Jubilee Memorial College Students’ Council. International gold medallist kickboxer and coach Mongsensara Longkumer of Mopungchuket shared his sporting journey, including setbacks and his return to competition. He encouraged students to remain disciplined, face failure with courage and persevere.
Assistant Commissioner, Mokokchung, Dr Madhavi R, IAS, addressed a session on “Future Ready Youth, Skills Beyond the Classroom”. Drawing from her journey from medicine to civil services, she urged students to develop communication, leadership, adaptability and problem-solving skills.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by NSS Student Coordinator Atongjungla, followed by the National Anthem.
