The Department of Chemistry, Dimapur Government College (DGC), in collaboration with the Food Safety Administration, Office of the CMO, Dimapur Zone, Department of Health and Family Welfare, organised a workshop on food adulteration at the DGC Seminar Hall. The programme was sponsored by the college’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).

The programme was chaired by Ms Jimokali Zhekheto Zhimomi, Secretary, IQAC and Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, DGC.
Dr H. Atoholi Sema, HOD and Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, delivered the welcome address, while Principal Dr T. Tiakaba Jamir highlighted the importance of food safety awareness among students and the wider community.
The workshop featured practical demonstrations by Food Technicians Zuthungbemo Ngullie and Lika Assumi from the Food Safety on Wheels initiative. They demonstrated simple methods for detecting common food adulterants. A presentation also highlighted food safety campaigns undertaken by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Assistant Professor Temsunungsang Aier.
