A Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) awareness programme was held on September 1, 2026, at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) in connection with the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Mokokchung district.
The programme aimed to sensitise young voters and students about the importance of electoral participation. EAC Neithozo Theunuo, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) for 27 AC-Mokokchung Town, briefed the gathering. In his address, Theunuo highlighted the significance of voting rights, emphasising the democratic principle of “one person, one vote” and the fundamental right of every citizen to exercise their franchise responsibly.
The supervisor for 27 AC also explained the technical and administrative aspects of the SIR exercise. The supervisor urged students, eligible voters and community members to extend their full cooperation to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to ensure an error-free and updated electoral roll for the district.
