The School of Engineering and Technology (SET), Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, conducted a 21-day induction programme for newly admitted B.Tech students of the 2026-27 academic session from August 12 to September 1.
The programme aimed to ease students’ transition from school to university and familiarise them with the academic, professional, social and cultural environment. A total of 141 students, including 80 male and 61 female students from 14 states, participated.
The programme covered academic preparedness, Universal Human Values, professional ethics, mental wellness, innovation, entrepreneurship, teamwork, leadership and social responsibility. Students also attended orientation sessions on academic and examination rules, departmental activities, laboratories, research, hostel life and residential discipline.
Interactions with entrepreneurs, industry experts and alumni focused on emerging technologies, career opportunities and professional expectations. Er Dhiraj Kalita, Founder and CMD of DK Tech Pvt Ltd, Guwahati, delivered a session titled “Innovate, Initiate and Inspire”.
Creative, technical and cultural activities included photography and video-making, short films, technical quizzes, idea and pitch competitions, painting, sketching and a traditional attire fashion show.
The programme concluded by emphasising professional excellence, integrity, creativity, leadership, empathy and social responsibility, while interactions among students from different departments and states promoted collaboration and national integration.
