The meeting, chaired by Charaideo District Commissioner Dr Neha Yadav at her office in Sonari, brought together officials from both states, including representatives of Nagaland’s Tizit subdivision.

Charaideo shares an approximately 35-km boundary with Nagaland and has two designated border outposts. Discussions focused on security concerns, issues affecting border areas and the need for regular communication and timely information-sharing between the two administrations.

Yadav stressed the importance of sustained cooperation, dialogue and mutual understanding to prevent misunderstandings and resolve emerging issues. She also called for greater involvement of village-level representatives in maintaining cordial relations along the border.

Gaon Burahs, village council representatives and other stakeholders from Sakho, Loakkun and Nokzang villages raised concerns affecting local residents.

According to the Charaideo District Administration, the discussions focused on strengthening border security, addressing issues concerning the inter-state border areas and enhancing coordination between the administrations of Assam and Nagaland. The participation of local representatives provided an opportunity to discuss ground-level concerns and matters affecting the border communities.
