Impur, October 31 (MTNews): With thousands of delegates from all over Nagaland and abroad, Impur, the Mission Headquarters of the Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM), is all set to commemorate 150 years of Christianity in the Naga Hills from Tuesday under the theme “To God be the Glory.”

 

 

The celebration which will begin on 1st of November is set to continue for three days and shall culminate on November 3, Thursday.

 

“The Ao churches and the Ao community are excitedly looking forward to the celebration with gratitude before God and in a spirit of jubilance,” an update from Impur said.

 

The speaker for the inaugural session of the Sesquicentennial will be Rev. Watson Rajaratnam, Regional Director, Serving in Mission, East Asia. Rev. Dr. L. Kari Longchar, Former Executive Secretary, ABAM will deliver an exhortation. Biren Gowalla, Pastor, Central Baptist Church, Sivasagar and Rev. Dr. W. Along Jamir will bring the greetings. The inaugural session will also feature Baptist Church Mizoram Choir and the release of Jubilee Souvenir by Former Secretary, L. Bendangla Jamir, ABTM.

 

The three-day Sesquicentennial celebration will also be significantly marked by traditional and modern ‘Homecoming Celebrations’ including the Phom Baptist Christian Association, Ao Naga Choir Delhi, Nungshitula Pongener and Merenyangla Pongener, Lotha Baptist Churches Association, Akangmongba, Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu, ABAM Choir, United Sangtam Baptist Lithroti Ashimukkhong, Samaro, Sumi Baptist Akukuhou Kuqhakulu, Nito Mount; ABAM Youth Ministry, Nocte Baptist Churches Association , Meyitemsu Pongen and Aoyimti Baptist Arogo.

 

The ABAM SQC Planning Committee has requested all the church members and friends to prayerfully attend and participate in the celebration of God’s love, physically as well as virtually.

 

The SQC celebration program shall begin every morning at 9:00AM and in the evening at 5:00PM.

 

The three day SQC Celebration shall be telecast live through ABAM YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/channel/UCLGYH_YM_1de1jLZpjtv8uQ).
