Impur, 3 September (MTNews): ABAM Women Ministry, under the leadership of Alemla Mozür, Secretary, successfully held its 7th Triennial Conference from September 1 to 3 in Impur, Mokokchung under the theme “Women Today: A Hope for Tomorrow” (Ezekiel 17:22-24).
The program had two main sections: the Worship service and the workshop section. The speakers for the worship services were Rev Dr Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary of ABAM, and Dr Sahinungla Pongen, Associate Professor of Christian History at OTS, along with L Watinaro, Associate Pastor of Mangkolemba, who spoke on the conference theme “Women Today: A Hope for Tomorrow.”
The topics covered in the workshop included Women’s Health, Social Media, Homosexuality, Mental Health, Self-reliance, and Food Safety. The resource persons for the workshop were: Dr Süpongmeren, Senior Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynecology at IMDH; Benjungdenla Yaden, Reader at SCERT Nagaland; Imtimenla Aier, APW, Süngkomen BC; Moamenla Longkümer, District Mission Coordinator at District Hub for Empowerment of Women in Mokokchung; Tsükti Longkümer, Proprietor of Longpok Holdings, and Sendongkaba Jamir, Assistant Food Safety Commissioner at DHFW, Kohima.
Altogether, 1160 delegates from 160 churches under the auspices of ABAM attended the conference.
“ABAM entreats that, as the Women Ministry strives to bring about holistic change, God empowers them to take leadership in the fight against all evil and to elevate our society to the standard of God’s interest,” it said.
