Mokokchung, 5 May (MTNews): The Sports and Scripture Engagement program organized by the ABAM Youth Ministry for Zones 8 and 9 was successfully held at Padumpukhuri Ao Baptist Church on 2 & 3 May 2024.
Resource persons for the event were Dr Viposa Kiso, Mr Putinok, Mr Toshi Sanglir, Secretary, ABAM YM, and Mr Tekatemjen, Coordinator, ABAM YM.
“Sports is an activity that focuses on a person’s holistic development and fitness. It shapes the individual’s personality and provides an enormous opportunity to acknowledge God’s ultimate source of the talents given to the individual,” a press release from the Executive Secretary of ABAM, Rev. Dr. Mar Pongener, said.
“Importantly, it allows the church to take the Gospel beyond the four walls of the church building and reach out to many outside the church,” the release added. “Realizing the strength and importance of sports in strengthening the Youth Ministry, this program was organized,” it added.
A total of 53 youths from 14 churches attended the program.
ABAM also appreciated Padupukhuri Ao Baptist Church for hosting the program.
“As Youth Ministry continues to reach out to many youths through sports, may God help them bring a significant impact in the church and society,” the Executive Secretary added.
