Punanamei, Mao, Senapati, 9 August: Asufii Christian Institute (Autonomous), Punanamei, organised a one-day Faculty Development Programme on “Transforming Teaching, Shaping Futures” on Saturday. The programme was organised by the Research Cell in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell.

ACI organises faculty development programme on teaching, future skills

The FDP brought together faculty members from colleges and senior secondary institutions for discussions on contemporary teaching, research, technology, emotional intelligence, environmental awareness and institutional ethics.

The programme was chaired by Hriini Gilbert Saprii, IQAC Coordinator, while Vice Principal K. Athishu delivered the welcome address and stressed the importance of continuous professional development.

Six sessions covered key areas of education. Dr. Soreiphy Mungkung addressed “Teaching Methods in Gen Z Generation”, focusing on learner-centred approaches and digital tools. Gaikulung Gonmei spoke on “Beyond Curriculum: Emotional Intelligence”, highlighting empathy, self-awareness and relationship management.

Dr. Adani Azhoni, HoD, Civil Engineering, NIT Imphal, discussed “Transforming Teaching: Beyond AI and ICT”, emphasising ethical technology use and teachers’ role in developing critical thinking and creativity.

Dr. Oinam U-Wang addressed environmental consciousness, while Principal Dr. Daili Neli introduced research methodology under NEP 2020. Registrar Kaini Lokho discussed institutional ethics, including integrity, transparency and accountability.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mhadeno Odyuo, Assistant Professor, Economics. The FDP reaffirmed ACI’s commitment to professional development and academic excellence.
