Kohima, 23 March (MTNews): Regarding the ULB election, Imkong L Imchen, Advisor IPR and Soil & Water Conservation said today that necessary amendments in the Articles should be properly discussed and suggested that a consultative meeting should be held so that the public would be cleared of all the confusion.

Speaking at the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Imchen in his motion of thanks to the governor’s address also opined that one should not be too critical of the Naga political issue as all the 60 members are united as one in the issue.

 

However, he advised that the negotiations should not be one-way traffic and that the approach should be rational and acceptable to both the negotiating parties and called for a ‘spirit of accommodation with flexible diplomacy’.

 

Further, he lauded the Government of India for being committed and sincere to solve the Naga issue and added that rigidity will not bring any solution.

 

Regarding the development works of the PWD (R&B) projects mentioned in the Governor’s address, he sought clarification on the new road projects which are to be implemented by the new government.

 

He also thanked the Governor for precisely mentioning about the foothill highway and expressed gratitude that DPR for Phase I and II has been submitted to the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways.

 

He also appealed to the concerned department to expedite and make the Khelhoshe Polytechnic institute a full-fledged engineering college.
