Stating that he was there to share his ‘personal sorrow’ and stand with the people of Mokokchung during such a devastating time, Advisor for Minority Affairs and Sericulture, Imkongmar visited the MMC Complex and attended the meeting convened by the DC on Sunday.
“The MMC Complex is a government property. It is a loss for the entire state of Nagaland. We should consider it a loss for the Nagas,” the Advisor said.
He also mentioned that the PDA government under Chief Minister Rio is for the people of Nagaland, acknowledging that the government will be ready to help impartially. However, he admitted that the compensation shall be made based on the quantum of damages.
“I would like to reiterate that government activities take time, but due compensation will be made,” he assured. The Advisor also contributed monetary donations towards the emergency relief fund.
Further, he added, “Assume that I am here on behalf of all the 10 elected members from Mokokchung. The Aos have elected ten of us to represent your voices, and therefore, we are with you in this tragedy,” he added. The Advisor inspected the fire-damaged building.
