The Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) and the Nagaland NET Qualified Forum (NNQF) have called off their proposed agitation scheduled for April 25, 2025, following a meeting with the Minister of Higher Education.

CTAN and NNQF called off their agitation on April 24 following a verbal assurance from the Minister of HE that their demands would be met.

In a joint statement issued today, CTAN and NNQF stated that the meeting was held in response to an invitation from the Minister. After what the groups described as “thorough deliberation,” the Minister reportedly gave a verbal assurance that their demand for the revocation of a cabinet order to absorb 147 Assistant Professors and Librarians would be met.

“He also assured that the file would be put up by 25th April, 2025 in the early hour,” the statement said.

As a result of this assurance, the two organisations announced the withdrawal of their planned protest.

They reiterated their continued commitment to safeguarding the interests of aspiring candidates in the state.

“We remain committed to look into the interest of the aspirants in Nagaland,” the statement added, while also extending gratitude to all unions, associations, organizations, individuals, and well-wishers who supported their cause.
