In a meeting held at Bhandari Town, Wokha District, on July 12, 2025, the Aggrieved Villagers on Foothills Road under Bhandari and Changpang Area revisited the ongoing developments and recent “slight alteration of alignment” concerning the Nagaland Foothills Road (NFHR). The meeting aimed to authenticate the final agreement between the Changpang Area Sub-Committee on Foothills Road—constituted in July 2024 in the presence of the Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B), and the Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC).

The forum recalled the assurance given by the Department during the August 7, 2024, meeting in Kohima, wherein it was stated that “the NFHR shall go according to the wishes of the local area people on the definition of the Nagaland Foothills Road as envisaged since 2013.”

In light of this, the forum welcomed the “recent demarcation of the approved alignment with requisite pillars along the road from Longtsiri–Changpang ONCC–New & Old Tssori village area to Sumi-inhabited area linking Longtho in Mangolemba Division via Sumito under Baghty Division, Wokha District,” an exercise initiated by the NPWD, R&B. The forum termed it “a welcoming note” and “fervently urged the State Government [to] commence the construction at the earliest.”

The Aggrieved Villagers Forum also expressed appreciation to the LLRPO and Changpang Area Committee on Foothills Road for “affirming support to Lotha Hoho representation on Foothills Road Issue submitted to the Chief Engineer, PWD, R&B dated June 15, 2024.”

After thorough deliberations during the meeting, the Aggrieved Villagers Union passed a resolution to “reaffirm our unflinching support to Lotha Hoho led Resolution adopted at Merapani joint Consultative meeting held on May 15, 2025, along with the NFHRCC and the Aggrieved Villagers Forum.”
