All India Congress Committee (AICC) Secretary in charge of Nagaland, Christopher Tilak, emphasized the need to make the competencies of the Framework Agreement and the Agreed Position publicly available. He also stated that the Congress party in Nagaland will develop strategies and a roadmap over the next few years, focusing on the 2028 elections.

Speaking to media personnel at Congress Bhavan in Kohima after a meeting with state Congress party leaders today, Tilak shared that the party plans to begin its district tour, starting with the ENPO areas, after October 20. He noted that the 2024 election results provided a significant boost for the Congress party in Nagaland, pointing out that the election of a Congress MP in the state reflects the people’s strong desire for change.

Tilak highlighted that a peaceful state is crucial for the development of women and youth, reiterating that the Congress has consistently aimed for a permanent and final solution to the Naga political issue.

He also commended the Nagaland government, under Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s leadership, for forming the Political Affairs Committee. However, he stressed that making public the competencies of these agreements would not only enhance transparency but also empower the facilitators and interlocutors involved in the peace process.
