Akato Chophi, President of NSCN/GPRN (Akato) expressed pain at the demise of N Ghoshito Achumi on 26th march 2024 from Eden Hospital.

“Late Ghoshito, who hailed from Yehemi village was a selfless social activist, a philanthropist, a politician and a visionary leader, who never said never and who always dared to face any challenges, come what may,” Chophi said in a condolence message.

Besides other achievements, Ghoshito Achumi was the founder/president of DNSU (Dimapur Naga Students Union). He was also a member of the DMC (erstwhile DTC Dimapur Town Committee) and currently, the GB of Dimapur Churches colony.

“His unfortunate demise has left a deep void in the society which will surely be felt by everyone, especially the sumis in particular and the Nagas in general.

The late leader leaves behind his legacy for all to cherish on as a torchbearer, a frontrunner and a harbinger of peace, but above all a loving father to his children and a true friend to his companions,” Chophi said.

Naga Students’ Federation (NSF)
The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) expressed sadness at the passing of N Ghoshito Achumi, the first president of Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU).

The NSF said Achumi’s contributions to the student community and to the broader Naga society are immeasurable. His leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of students have left an indelible mark on our collective consciousness, NSF said.

“His tireless efforts in championing the cause of education and empowerment have left a lasting impact on our community, and his memory will forever be cherished,” NSF conveyed.
