Mokokchung, 16 April (MTNews): With only two days left before Nagaland go to polls for the 18th Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) has come out in support of “free and fair election,” stating that the “system of election needs to change in Nagaland.”

The apex student body also extended appreciation to the initiatives of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC), Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang (ABAM), and Langpangkong Students’ Conference (LKM) on Clean Election Movement.

Further, AKM appealed to all the Ward Chairman, Village Councils and citizens for “a Free and Fair Election” in all their respective jurisdictions.

“Somewhere inside all of us is the power to change the world,” AKM stated, adding that the change has to “start with us.”

AKM also emphasized the importance of responsible participation by all the eligible voters, actively engaging in the democratic election process. It is essential for all the voters in Nagaland to choose their candidate/party wisely for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha General Election 2024, it added.

“By making informed and conscientious decisions, voters can contribute to a fair and effective representation of their interest and concerns at the national level,” AKM said. It also urged all the voters in Nagaland to exercise their right to vote with careful consideration and to prioritize the well being of the community and country.

By selecting a candidate wisely and encouraging everyone to exercise their rights, AKM said “we fortify the foundations of a robust democracy, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.”
