Mokokchung, 30 April (MTNews): The Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) while extending Moatsü greetings to one and all has beckoned for the solemn celebration of the premier festival of the Ao Nagas.

 

Saying that their forefathers celebrated Moatsü after sowing seeds in the fields with veneration for their deities seeking their blessings for a bountiful harvest, AKM called upon the Ao community to solemnly celebrate the festival by seeking the Almighty’s blessings today.

 

Further, AKM encouraged the community to turn up for the Moatsü celebrations organized by the apex Ao Senden on 1 and 2 May at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.

 

 

Governor La Ganesan extends Moatsü greetings

 

Nagaland Governor La Ganesan has extended warm greetings to the Ao community on the occasion of Moatsü festival.

He said Moatsü is a festival marking the end of stressful field sowing, cleaning up wells, and repairs and construction of houses. It is also a festival of community bonding, where new bonds are built and old friendship renewed, he said.

The Governor wished that the festival may foster love and unity among the community and bring good health and prosperity to the people.
