Mokokchung, 15 June (MTNews): Stating that an old ‘explicit’ video involving students from its organization has resurfaced on various online and social media platforms, the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has urged the authorities to take immediate action to halt the dissemination of the video and prevent further damage.
AKM also requested the concerned authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and book the culprit at the earliest under the relevant sections of the law, saying that failure to address the matter with the utmost urgency and seriousness it deserves would have severe consequences.
“We are gravely concerned about the breach of privacy, severe emotional, psychological, and reputational harm caused to the individuals depicted in the video, as well as the detrimental impact this incident can have on our entire student body,” AKM said.
“Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) firmly believes in promoting an environment of respect, dignity, and support for all members of our community. The circulation of such explicit and non-consensual material undermines these values and poses a significant threat to the mental well-being and overall safety of our students,” it further said.
Further, AKM cautioned that anyone found sharing the clip will be summoned to its office and “dealt with severity.”
