Mokokchung, October 26 (MTNews): As the agitation against the non-deployment of adequate teachers in schools within the Tzurangkong range under Mokokchung district enters its second day, with the range’s apex student body, Tzurangkong Students’ Conference (TKM), calling for the closure of all schools and EBRC within the Tzurangkong range, the Department of School Education Nagaland has issued a redeployment order on October 26, 2022.

However, in the face of the redeployment order, the Tzurangkong Students’ Conference (TKM) has decided to continue their ongoing agitation.

According to a press release issued by TKM president Imlisunep, the redeployment order issued on October 26 “left out” schools within the range that are in “desperate need” of a sufficient number of qualified teachers.
Expressing their dissatisfaction with the order, the student body reiterated that “just and rational” redeployment is required so that all concerned schools are properly staffed and the students’ learning processes are not affected.

The student body also noted that the order contained an anomaly in which one teacher was assigned to two schools, GPS Medemyim and GMS Tsuremen, at the same time.

The TKM president also told Mokokchung Times that they are disappointed with the order because they have already sent the list of “shortage of teachers in various schools” several times, but the redeployment order issued on October 26 yielded no positive results.

It was also made known by the president that all government schools and EBRC under the Tzurangkong range remained closed on Wednesday.
