Nagas are freedom loving people. We have led our political movement for more than 70 years in defense of our historical and political rights. The 16 Point Memorandum and Shillong Accord never go near to meet the political aspirations of the Nagas.
The 1997 ceasefire led to The Amsterdam Joint Communique of July 11, 2002 that led to the GoI giving official recognition to the unique history and position of the Nagas. Having established the legitimacy of the historical and political rights of the sovereign Naga people, the historic Framework Agreement was signed in August 3, 2015, between the Government of India and NSCN. This agreement recognized the sovereign rights of the Naga nation Nagalim. The final process to implement the FA is still going on.
