Subject: Urgent Appeal for Timely Disbursement of Scholarships – Request for Immediate Intervention.
Respected sir,
I hope this correspondence finds you well. The All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) is reaching out to express our concerns regarding the delay in the disbursement of the NEC Merit Scholarship for the academic years 2021-2022 & 2022-2023. We bring this matter to your attention as it falls under the purview of the Higher Education Department to collaborate with the relevant ministry/authority for the timely release of this scholarship, for which your department serves as the nodal authority. Regrettably, it has come to our notice that there has been a significant delay in the disbursement process, causing distress among the student community. We find it disheartening that the urgency of this matter has not been accorded the priority it deserves, creating uncertainty and anxiety among students who have been eagerly anticipating these funds to meet their academic needs over the past years.
Furthermore, we would like to draw your attention to another critical matter involving the Technical Department. The disbursement of the Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) for Minority 2023 is yet to be realized for the eligible student beneficiaries. In this regard, the ANCSU questions the seriousness of the department in addressing student scholarships. Specifically, we are concerned about the apparent negligence in verifying the applicants for the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) scholarship. While other states have diligently undertaken the verification process, collaborating with the concerned ministry and meeting the deadline of 26th February 2024, it is disconcerting that our Technical Department has yet to follow suit. We must emphasize that failing to complete the verification of AICTE scholarship applicants by the stipulated date will hold the technical department accountable for any ensuing consequences.
Technical Departments to give immediate and serious consideration to this matter. We implore you to expeditiously engage with the concerned ministries to ensure the early release and disbursement of all scholarship schemes under the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
We believe that addressing these concerns promptly will not only alleviate the apprehensions of the student community but also demonstrate the commitment of your esteemed departments to the educational welfare of the students in Nagaland. We place our confidence that you will take the necessary steps to resolve these issues at the earliest.
Thanking you
Yours’ sincerely,
President ANCSU
Education Secretary ANCSU
