Mokokchung, October 8 (MTNews): With a realization that Naga people must change by acting in hope and acknowledging one another as “people of common belonging in the moment for the future,” Naga apex organizations and the Church came together on October 8 in a joint meeting and pledged support to the ‘September Joint Accordant’. The meeting was held under the initiative of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation
The ‘September Joint Accordant’ which was signed by the National Socialist Council of Nagalim/Government of the Peoples’ Republic of Nagalim (NSCN/GPRN) and the Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs).

 

 

According to a press release issued by FNR, the Naga apex organisations and the Church also vowed that the Naga public will further render whole hearted assistance to the reconciliation process for the NSCN (IM) and WC, NNPGs to find “common ground and mutually agree on a relationship of cooperation based on the Naga historical and political rights in order to move forward.”

 

“Heretofore, the public in sincere trust await the fulfillment of the ‘September Joint Accordant’ by the signatories in ‘letter and in spirit’,” it added.

 

The signatories of the meeting were: Forum for Naga Reconciliation, Nagaland Joint Christian Forum, Naga Christian Forum, Manipur; Don Bosco Society; Naga Mothers Association; Naga Hoho; Nagaland Tribes Council ; Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization; United Naga Council; Central Nagaland Tribes Council; Global Naga Forum; Nagaland Gaon Bura Federation; Naga Students’ Federation and All Naga Students Association, Manipur.

 

It may be recalled that the ‘September Joint Accordant’ was signed between NSCN (IM) and WC, NNPGs on September 14, 2022 with the FNR as the facilitator, wherein they pledged to honour the Covenant of Reconciliation (CoR) of June 13, 2009 signed by Isak Chishi Swu, SS Khaplang , and Brig (Retired) S. Singnya in “letter and in spirit.”
