App-based taxi service UraCab launched in Kiphire

UraCab, Nagaland’s app-based taxi service, launched its Kiphire Branch on November 4 at Medical Ward, Kiphire.

Longdiba L Sangtam, NCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, officially launched the branch. Describing the introduction of an online taxi service as “a great step forward for Kiphire,” he said the initiative would benefit both locals and visitors despite challenges in road connectivity. He urged the UraCab team, particularly Manager Longtili C Sangtam, to remain committed and not give up easily. He further assured that the administration is always ready to support innovative and entrepreneurial ventures, adding that “success comes through hard work and consistency.”

Delivering the welcome address, Keneilezo Rutsa, General Manager of UraCab, informed that the company has registered over 200 drivers, 4000 users, and completed more than 1500 rides. He shared that UraCab began its journey in 2022 and was formally inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Nagaland in November 2024.

The programme, chaired by Atouzo Metha, Assistant Fleet Manager, began with an invocation prayer by Nancy Sangtam, Associate Secretary of Christian Education, USBLA Sub-Centre.

Delivering the closing remarks, Longtili C Sangtam, Manager of UraCab Kiphire, expressed his gratitude to ADC Kiphire, Nancy Sangtam, Associate Secretary Children Education USBLA Sub-center Kiphire, Executive Chairman USSC, Local Taxi Union, All Nagaland Taxi Association Kiphire Unit, Two-Wheeler Taxi Association Kiphire, Chairman Medical Ward, and the UraCab team for their support in making the programme a success. He added that the launch will not only improve travel facilities but also boost the local economy and promote tourism in Kiphire in a sustainable way.
