Mokokchung, September 21 (MTNews): As reported by this newspaper on August 28, a group of residents of Artang Ward in Mokokchung town are paving a 1.5 km stretch of the main approach road in their Ward.
The group now named as ‘Lenmang aser Telongjem’ which translates to ‘Road and Unity’ has on September 21 commenced concrete surfacing of the said stretch of 1.5 Km road which also leads to two schools and one college – Nagaland Christian Residential School, Canaan Higher Secondary School and Nagaland Bible College.
The group has stated that more than 150 households have contributed to the cause.
Eight years without Government involvement in maintaining the road has led to the voluntary group to take it upon themselves to repair the road.
