The entire fraternity of the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Kohima, bid farewell to its chairperson in a grand program held on 31st January 2025 at the NBSE Conference Hall, Kohima.

Speaking at the program, the retiring Chairperson, Asano Sekhose, recounted her journey with the Nagaland Board of School Education since 1st February 1990 and thanked God for granting her good health and guiding her throughout her years of public service. She remarked that the office had always felt like her second home, and with that sentiment, she worked tirelessly for the upcoming generation. Asano thanked the supporting officers and staff for their full cooperation in ensuring the successful operation of the office. She also expressed her gratitude to the sister department, School Education, and others for their continuous support, and acknowledged the Governing Board members for their assistance in shaping students’ futures. She further extended her appreciation to all the registered schools for the cooperation she received during her tenure as Chairperson.
At the program, MLA and Advisor for School Education and SCERT, Dr Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, lauded the outgoing Chairperson, Asano Sekhose, for her in-depth knowledge and expertise in building and organizing the NBSE, positioning the state at the forefront of the education system. The Advisor also thanked her for her dedication as both an educator and administrator in shaping the futures of thousands of students and fostering friendships and trust both nationally and internationally within the field of education. He expressed his hope that her legacy would be carried on by her successors, elevating the NBSE to even greater heights.
Commissioner and Secretary of School Education and SCERT, Kevileno Angami, in her speech, praised the exceptional service rendered by Asano as the Chairperson of NBSE. She noted that due to Asano’s dedication, Nagaland is ahead of other states in the education system. She commended the reforms initiated under Asano’s leadership and wished the retiring officer a successful and fulfilling retired life.
Earlier, on behalf of the officers and staff, NBSE Secretary Rangumbuing Nsarangbe acknowledged the retiring Chairperson’s remarkable service career, setting a commendable example for others to follow. He thanked Asano for being a guiding star both personally and professionally for all the staff of NBSE and for bringing the Board to a new outlook and higher level.
