Mokokchung, 7 May (MTNews): Assam Rifles in collaboration with the District Hospital Peren organized a Mega Medical Camp in Old Tesen village, Peren District to benefit villagers living in far-flung areas.

 

 

 

 

The camp was conducted on 5 May with the aim of providing medical aid and consultation to the villagers who have limited access to healthcare facilities, a press release from the CMO Office in Peren said.

 

The medical camp was held at the Christian School, Old Tesen, Peren and was attended by a large number of villagers from the surrounding areas, it said.

 

A team of doctors from District Hospital, Peren along with doctors, nurses and paramedical staff from Assam Rifles provided consultation and treatment for various ailments and health problems.

 

The team included specialists in fields of Otolaryngology, Dermatology and General Medicine along with an Ophthalmology technician.

 

“The medical team ensured that all necessary precautions and safety protocols were followed while conducting the health checks,” it stated.

 

The medical camp organized by Assam Rifles who provided logistical support, doctors and medical staff, assistance in setting up the camp and free medicines “was well-received by local residents and saw a huge turnout of people from the nearby villages. Approximately 482 villagers and 105 children were benefited by the medical camp,” it said.

 

In addition to medical consultations and treatments, the camp also had a team of healthcare professionals who educated the people about various health issues and provided them with tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
