Mokokchung, 5 August (MTNews): The Athletic Club Chungtia organized its 1st Annual Marathon Race on 5 August in Chungtia village under the theme “Run for better tomorrow” where a total of 35 runners from Chungtia, Aliba and Kinunger villages participated.
Imtiliba, Supongrepba and Sendener won the top three positions respectively in the male category while Imnaienla Longchar, Imlinaro Longchar and Imtijungla Longchar won the first, second and third positions in the female category.
Merensoba, a resident of Chungtia and a rising athlete from Mokokchung, who was the driving force behind the marathon race, hoped that the event would prove to be a “wake up call for the youngsters of Chungtia, Aliba and Kinunger.”
