Unger, 13 September (MTNews): Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Changtongya Block, Mokokchung conducted a Capacity Building program on Mushroom Cultivation and Kisan Gosthi on 12 September at Unger Village, with Toshirenla T Longkumer as the resource person.

The program on mushroom cultivation was conducted by resource person Toshirenla, where she demonstrated the step-by-step process of mushroom cultivation using banana leaf substrate. She shared that banana leaves produced a significantly higher yield compared to paddy straw. In total, 13 female farmers from Ashinii SHG participated in the program. Inputs such as mushroom spawn, garden gloves, seeds, and neem oil were distributed to the participants.

 

Kisan Gosthi was also organized for the farmers, where the progressive farmer Limakumla shared her experience, knowledge, and farming techniques with fellow farmers from Unger Village.

 

An interactive session between the farmers and discussions on problems such as yellowing of leaves in colocasia and gundhi bug pests in paddy cultivation were highlighted, to which the resource person shared management practices and disease control measures. In total, 19 female participants took part in the program.
