Longkong, February 2 (MTNews): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mokokchung, Chuchuyimlang Block conducted a demonstration program on January 30 and 31 at Longkong village.
Resource person Abenla B Jamir, ATM demonstrated on field preparation and cultivation of chili.
She emphasized on weed management, water management and plant protection measures. Furthermore, she demonstrated on nursery raised bed preparation and its management. Raising of saplings using a seed tray was also introduced to the farmers.
Thereafter, resource person Tangit Longkumer, ATM briefed the farmers on various packages of practices on cultivation of sweet corn. He also highlighted various pest control measures and nutrient management practices.
Resource person Aolemla Kichu, BTM, demonstrated on field preparation and cultivation of okra. She highlighted the important packages and practices of okra. Further, she also mentioned that okra crop requires good amount of moisture in soil and good drainage facility.
Altogether 15 farmers attended the program and various inputs on seeds, vermicomposting and seeds were distributed among the farmers.
