Chuchuyimlang, 16 December (MTNews): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mokokchung, Chuchuyimlang Block, inaugurated an Apiary Farm School on December 14, 2023, at Longkong Village, with Akumjungba as the farm school teacher. A short inaugural program was held, during which Aolemla Kichu, BTM, Chuchuyimlang block, explained the concept and function of the farm school. Furthermore, Farm School teacher, Akumjungba, shared his experiences and the history of setting up his farm.
A training session was conducted in the farm school with 17 students on “Basic Apiary Management” by the Farm School Teacher. He highlighted the management practices of Apiary management, emphasizing Routine and Seasonal management, such as when and how to handle Bee colonies. He also suggested the students place the Apiary in an area with plenty of sunshine, a perennial water source, and ample foraging.
On the same day, the Food Security Group Teroto Naro was mobilized at Longkong Village with 8 members. Abenla B Jamir, ATM, Chuchuyimlang Block, briefed the farmers on the purpose and role of group mobilization. Later, seed money was distributed to the newly formed group to encourage and support them.
