ATMA Mangkolemba, Tsurangkong Blocks conduct demonstrations

Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Mokokchung, Mangkolemba Block, conducted demonstration program at Mangkolemba Town and Waromung Village on 21st April, 2022.

Resource person, Rongsenrenla Longkumer, ATM, Mangkolemba Block conducted a demonstration on “Cultivation Practices of Watermelon”. Package and practices of watermelon cultivation, management, disease and pest control was imparted to the farmers, she also demonstrated on the “Cultivation practices of Okra”. The importance of planting distance, best time for sowing and intercultural operations to be practiced during the growing period was also highlighted. All together 30 farmers attended the program. Watermelon (Red Chief) hybrid and Okra (Hybrid OH 940) seeds, seedling trays, compost mixture (Anapurna) and garden rake were distributed to the farmers.

Agricultural Technology Management Agency, Mokokchung, Tsurangkong Block, conducted a 2-day demonstration from 12th – 13th of April 2022. Demonstration on “Conservation of soil conservation in Foothill terrain” was held at Chungtiayimsen village on April 12 with the resource person as Zulutoshi Jamir, Assistant Technology Manager Tsurangkong block, where hands on method demonstration on low cost bunding were given to the farmers. Whereas on 13th April 21, 2022 demonstration on “Cultivation practices of bitter gourd using crop support net” was conducted at Shihaphumi village with the resource person as Moanukshi Ao Block technology Manager, Tsurangkong Block.
