The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Tuli Block, conducted a series of activities on the 28th, 29th, and 30th of May 2025 at Tzudikong, Chubarongpang, and Aopenzu villages. The program aimed to promote better and more sustainable farming practices by imparting technical knowledge to farmers.
The resource persons for the program were Dr. Toshiwati, Farm Manager, State Pig Breeding Centre, Chubarongpang; Imlisunep Ajem, BTM; Imlipokim Pongener, ATM; and Lanusanen Jamir, ATM.
Topics covered during the program included capacity building on composting using waste decomposer, sustainable agricultural practices, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Demonstrations were held on IPM, sweet corn cultivation, the performance of hybrid papaya, and maize-based intercropping with legumes. The program also included mobilization of the Molunglar Farmer Self-Help Group (FSG), a kisan ghosti (farmer interaction), and the inauguration of a farm school on piggery.
During the inaugural program, Imlisunep Ajem, BTM, delivered the keynote address. He briefed the participants on the concept, functions, and objectives of a farm school and outlined the roles and responsibilities of the farm school teacher. Tiamoa was appointed as the farm school teacher and shared his success story on establishing and maintaining his farm.
The inauguration was followed by a training session on piggery management. Resource person Dr. Toshiwati focused on housing and environment, feeding and health management, record keeping, and biosecurity.
A total of 68 farmers participated in the program.
