Tuli, 11 November (MTNews): The Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Tuli Block, Mokokchung, conducted various activities on the 10th and 11th of November 2023. These activities included training on the cultivation practices of winter vegetables, a demonstration on nursery bed management, and capacity building on Soil Pest Control, Integrated Pest Management, and Soil Health Management at different locations covering Tuli town and Luyong village. The resource persons were Imlisunep Ajem, BTM; Imlipokim Pongener, ATM; and Lanusanen, ATM, ATMA, Tuli Block.
The resource persons covered the package of practices for rabi crops, emphasizing the importance of nursery bed preparation, nutrient management, and the control of pests and diseases. Mass participation in hands-on demonstrations for nursery bed preparation was carried out during the programs. The staff elaborated to the farmers the importance of organic farming, intercropping, early control of pest infestation, and the use of high-yielding, good-quality seeds. In total, 26 farmers attended the activities conducted.
