Mokokchung, 13 February (MTNews): The Sub Divisional Officer (E), Electrical Sub-Division, Mokokchung has advised the general public to refrain from touching or approaching the recently constructed 33 kV Aolijen-Mokokchung town line along NH-61, which passes through Ungma village and 9 wards in Mokokchung Town, for safety reasons.

In an official notification, SDO (E), Er Achanger T Aier announced that the line is scheduled for test charging at the rated voltage on 15 February (Thursday) and will remain in an “idle charged” state.

The 33 kV main line traverses Ungma Village, CTC area, Assam Rifles area, Marepkong ward, Mongsenbai ward, Kumlong ward, Yimyu Ward, Kichutip Ward, Salangtem Ward, Liden Sector, Artang Ward, and Majakong ward.

The notice emphasized that anybody approaching the line “shall be doing so at their own risk,” adding that the Department of Power shall not be held responsible for any untoward incident whatsoever.
