Nature, the implementing agency of SBI Sanjeevani – Clinic on Wheels, conducted a health awareness camp at PM Shri Government High School, Yangphi, Kiphire on October 14, 2025. The program aimed to promote healthy living habits and raise awareness among students about the harmful effects of tobacco use and the importance of personal hygiene.

During the camp, Dr. P. Kumaresan delivered a talk on the topic “Say No to Tobacco.” He explained the dangers of tobacco consumption and its long-term impact on health, urging students to make a firm decision to stay away from tobacco in all its forms. Dr. Kumaresan highlighted how tobacco causes addiction, the harmful effects on vital organs including the heart, lungs, digestive system, and kidneys, and its connection to oral and lung cancer. He also addressed how tobacco use reduces productivity and overall quality of life and emphasized strategies to resist peer pressure.

Following the session, Kharila Sangtam conducted a practical demonstration on the “Eight Steps of Hand Washing” to stress the importance of personal hygiene. She guided students through wetting hands, applying soap, rubbing palms together, interlacing fingers, rinsing, drying with a clean towel, and using the towel to turn off the faucet, concluding with the assurance that “your hands are safe.”
