Alarmed by the increase in the use and sell of liquor, drugs and other contraband items in Mokokchung town, the All Ward Union Mokokchung Town (AWUMT) informed today that all the 18 ward authorities will be vigilantly monitoring their respective jurisdictions and that defaulters will be heavily penalized.
While soliciting the cooperation of all the citizens to curb the menace of contraband drugs and alcohol, AWUMT also said that law enforcing agencies should also be vigilant and that information on arrests made by them should be communicated to the respective ward authorities of which the culprits belong.
AWUMT president Limanungsang and secretary Jongpongtemjen stated that the decision to this effect was made during the AWUMT presidential council meeting held on April 18.
