Longleng, 25 September (MTNews): The Health and Family Welfare Department, Longleng organized the Ayushman Bhava Health Mela on 23 September 2023 at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Yachem.
In addition to health check-ups, the event included a Multi-Specialty Health Mela, Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) activities, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), VDRL testing, screening for Non-Communicable Diseases (Cancer, Diabetes, Hypertension, etc.), TB screening, leprosy evaluation, HIV counseling and testing, hepatitis testing, eye screening, OST Induction, and the issuance of Ayushman Cards.
A total of 230 individuals availed themselves of these services, and complimentary medications were also distributed.
Earlier, the event was chaired by Chubalemla, GNM, CHC Yachem and commenced with an invocation by Rev Adao, Pastor YBC.
Dr James, MO Yachem, delivered a welcoming address, followed by a keynote address by Dr Tiasunep, CMO Longleng, who emphasized the significance of the Ayushman Bhava campaign and highlighted upcoming departmental activities. Dr Tiasunep also sensitized attendees about dengue and conjunctivitis.
Brief speeches were delivered by Isakumba, VCC Yachem, and Likok, VCC Yaongyimchen. Kum S Chingmei, EAC Yachem, expressed gratitude to the Government of India, the Government of Nagaland, and H&FW for organizing the Health Mela at CHC Yachem. She acknowledged the various healthcare services provided and the promotion of health awareness. The program concluded with a benediction by Rev Lakba, Pastor NBC.
