Phek, 25 September (MTNews): A significant career guidance and legal awareness program was conducted in Meluri, organized by DEF Phek in collaboration with Chakesang Students’ Union and Meluri Students’ Union on the 24 September 2023.

The event featured SP Phek, Dr Pritipal Kaur IPS, who delivered a comprehensive talk on career guidance and cyber safety. Dr Kaur provided valuable insights into various competitive exams and recommended study materials to aspiring students. She also emphasized the importance of vigilance against cyber scams and encouraged attendees to report any cybercrimes via the 1930 helpline or the NCRP portal. Dr Kaur urged the students to become cyber volunteers to help spread awareness about cyber safety.

 

Professor Md. Sayeed Khan from NIT discussed the intricacies of the cyber world, ethical hacking, and the misuse of social media. He advised students to stay vigilant against extortion, phishing, deep fake technology, and other forms of cybercrimes. Professor Khan underscored the importance of not allowing apps downloaded from unknown sources to compromise personal data. He also cautioned against the use of public Wi-Fi and fake chargers, stressing the need for protective measures.

 

MGN Fellowship representative Sahil provided valuable information about various government schemes and programs available for students and self-help groups (SHGs).

 

The welcome address was delivered by Povozo, Finance Secretary of Chakesang Students’ Union. Kuojirhongu, Youth Pastor of MVBC, offered an invocation, and Rhothovi Nyusou, General Secretary of MKK, pronounced the benediction. The program was chaired by Chitsiarho Po, President of MKK.
