Mokokchung, 1 April (MTNews): Responding to the views expressed by K Therie, former president of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) in his letter to the Governor of Nagaland on the issue of ENPO’s ongoing demands, MLA and leader of NPF Legislature Party, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, said that one should not blame the present elected legislators or the Chief Minister “just to gain political mileage or political popularity.”

Nienu said it is not the time to blame one another but a time for all sections of the people regardless of tribes or party to “put our heads together in order to resolve issues in the greater interest of the Nagas.”

“lf we are to play the blame game it would be wiser if past and present legislators regardless of political parties equally take the blame for the mess that we have created,” Nienu said. “In this nail-biting situation, it was also expected that a figure like him should show more political maturity and bring about a positive outcome on the issue instead of crying at the door of the Raj Bhavan and accusing the present people’s representative specially the present Chief Minister,” Nienu added.

Nienu said Therie should be well aware that all elected political parties have come together for an opposition-less government in the greater interest of the Naga people so as to play the role of an active facilitator to bring about an early, honourable, acceptable, and inclusive solution to the protracted Naga political issue.

“Therefore, one should not blindly accuse the present opposition-less representatives of being voiceless or held responsible for the outcome of the ENPO issue but show his maturity while dealing with any sensitive issues and not pass the bug to anyone,” the NPF leader added.

“On my own behalf and on behalf of NPF Party, l also urged the ENPO people and its leadership to kindly consider refraining from participation in the coming Lok Sabha election on April 19, but to actively participate and take the lead to elect the popular representative to Delhi so that he / she can deliver justice to the Naga people as well as the ENPO demand,” Nienu appealed.
