Known for her business brand- Tessa, Temsusangla Kichu of Chungtia village, residing in Kumlong ward shares a fascinating story about her brand, Tessa.

Starting in 2013, under the brand name Tessa, Asang has been making doughnuts and pickles of shrimps, dry fish, beef and axone together with her husband, Imsumanen, who according to her, has been her greatest support.

Speaking about her journey, she shared how she started making products out of interest by asking and learning from other people and unknowingly, she was selling it.
“It has become more of a family business because it is the only thing I focus on and nothing else. It actually turned out to be a very profitable business which has been helping us in running the family,” she said.

She then explained that her products are being sold three days a week in various bakeries such as New bakery, Top bakery, Deluxe Majestic bakery and many others.
“I make around 200 packets a day and fortunately it does get sold easily,” she said.

 

An excited Asang then shared how her customers’ remarks had been most encouraging for her and is grateful that, so far, customers had nothing but only nice things to say about her products.
Then, speaking about the ingredients, she said she gets everything she needs from Mokokchung alone and finishes making all her products in her kitchen.
