Kohima, 22 March (MTNews): Raj Bhavan Kohima celebrated the Bihar State Foundation Day with the Bihari Community of Nagaland on 22 March 2024 at Dr Imkongliba Ao Hall.

The program was graced by the Governor of Nagaland, La. Ganesan. During the program a greeting message from the Governor of Bihar, Rajendra Vishwanatha Arlekar was conveyed through a video presentation.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor of Nagaland said that this celebration is a manifestation of the unity in diversity that is the very fabric of our nation.  The central idea of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ is to recognize, respect, and revel in the rich tapestry of cultures that adorn our country and each is vital to the integrity of our nation.

He stated that the relationship between Bihar and Nagaland, though geographically distant, is deeply interwoven through the threads of economic and social exchanges. Biharis have been instrumental in contributing to the economy of Nagaland, bringing with them their hard work, skills, and entrepreneurial spirit. From agriculture to education, infrastructure development to commerce, their participation has been invaluable. Bihari farmers, educators, professionals and traders have not only shared their expertise but have also adopted Nagaland as their home, dedicating their lives to its development.

At the celebration programme, Secretary to Governor, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, gave the opening remarks, while Deputy Commissioner, kohima, Kumar Ramikant, IAS, gave a speech on Bihar State.

The highlights of the program included poetry recitation, Bihari folk songs and dances and patriotic songs.
