“What is Rio scared of? Is he scared of being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate?” ~ Sujata Paul
Mokokchung, January 27 (MTNews): Through Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal, the opposition has accused the BJP of conspiring to finish off regional parties and establish “dictatorship.” And this time, Congress believes that BJP is set to do the same even in Nagaland.

Addressing media persons at the Congress Bhavan in Kohima on January 27, AICC media coordinator Sujata Paul said that BJP is out to finish off regional parties in state.
“BJP does not believe in any regional parties, they want to crush democracy,” she said and added that the BJP has no respect for any regional party and accused the party of trying to “get the NDPP into its shoes.”
She called the BJP workers “complete indiscipline” and accused them of deliberately planning and staging the act and stated that the BJP’s larger game plan is to “finish off the regional parties.”
“This is being encouraged not just by the BJP but also by Rio because he is the one who has held Nagaland to ransom by his corruption, and now, the BJP is holding him to ransom to destroy even the remnants of democracy in an opposition-less Nagaland Assembly,” she said.
Paul also held chief minister Neiphiu Rio responsible for the state Nagaland is in today, calling him a “corrupt” and “weak” chief minister.
She also slammed the BJP-NDPP seat-sharing squabble, claiming that the demand arose as a result of Rio and accused the BJP of pressuring the NDPP.
She questioned why Rio, who has been harping on the prior seat share of 20:40, has been unable to resolve the problem with the BJP behind closed doors.
“What is Rio scared of?” she said, implying that all is not well between Rio and the BJP. “Is he scared of being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate?”
Recalling how BJP workers caused havoc for more than two hours on January 22 at deputy chief minister Y Patton’s Dimapur residence and later threatened to go on mass resignation, Paul said state president Temjen Imna Along and deputy chief minister Patton could not control the BJP workers and sought Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s intervention to resolve the issue.
“Now, we hear that a decision on the matter will be taken before January 29 by the BJP at the centre,” Paul remarked and joked that one day Himanta Biswa Sarma will end up making decisions for Nagaland.
“It is the state government, not an outside chief minister, that can fix the state’s problems,” she remarked.
