Rajesh Kumar Sethi, National Coordinator and In-charge of Manipur, has strongly criticized the central government over the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Manipur, blaming it on negligence, political expediency, and governance failure at all levels. He condemned the delay in imposing President’s Rule, calling it a “gross betrayal of the people of Manipur.”
Sethi questioned the central leadership’s handling of the crisis, demanding answers from Union Home Minister Amit Shah. “Where was the urgency from the central leadership when Manipur burned for months? How many lives had to be lost, how many homes destroyed, how much trust fractured before someone in power took responsibility?” he asked. Sethi accused the Centre of prioritizing political optics over human lives, stating that “instead of removing an incompetent state leadership, the Centre stood by in cold indifference, offering meaningless reassurances while Manipur bled.”
Describing the situation as a “complete collapse of constitutional machinery,” Sethi argued that the Home Minister had failed in his duty to protect citizens. “If the Home Minister cannot protect the citizens of a state, why should he continue in his position?” he questioned.
Demanding immediate accountability, Sethi called for Amit Shah’s resignation, asserting that the delay in imposing President’s Rule was “unforgivable.” He stated, “The people of India deserve leaders who are accountable, not those who hide behind press conferences and scripted speeches while the nation burns.”
