Pfütsero, October 25 (MTNews): The Chakhesang Clean Election Movement (CCEM) organized a joint meeting with various groups in Phek district, including political party workers and prayer centers/houses, at the conference hall of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC), Pfütsero on October 25, 2022 where over 70 people in attendance agreed to support the Nagaland Baptist Church Council and the CCEM’s clean election guidelines and principles.

The attendees also resolved to protect the Christian faith, socio-cultural values, and Naga identity, and to collaborate to bring peace and tranquility during the election and beyond.
It also decided not to mislead the public by using hate speech or character assassination against any candidates or political parties and further agreed to create an open platform and discourage individual or house-to-house campaigns.
The CCEM also stated that it will continue to educate the public about the clean election movement both during and after the election.
Earlier, CCEM Chairman Rev. Vezopa Rhakho provided an overview of the clean election movement and presided over the event.
According to CBCC Executive Secretary Rev. Khrotso Mero, the people have been passive for far too long and it is time for them to become active in working for the betterment of society. He urged the leaders of various groups to work together and elect their leaders honestly.
Vezuhu Keyho, President of the Chakhesang Public Organization, also spoke about the need to change the system. He urged the meeting’s leaders not to mislead voters but instead educate them.
