The new team of the Chakhesang Cultural Research Institute (CCRI) for the 2026–28 tenure was installed today at a function held at the Red Cross Building, Kohima.
The installation ceremony was conducted by the Chakhesang Cultural Organisation (CCO). The new team was announced by CCRI Search Committee Convener Dr. Chotisüh Sazo, while Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh, Senior Pastor of Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima, officiated the installation ceremony.
The new team includes Meshusayi Tetseo as Managing Director, Veswüzo Phesao as Assistant Managing Director, Kuvehü Soho as Secretary, Dr. Thebi Joseph Shupao as Joint Secretary, Sabou Krome as Finance Secretary, Hüzüyi Chotso as Treasurer, and Tsühveto Resiih as Property Secretary.
The advisors include Shoyiyo R. Vadeo, Yeveyi Sapu, Vevoyi D. Vadeo, Vahine Thisa, Neisa Wetsah, Chekhuzo Lohe, Zhoponeyi Zuo, and the CCO President as ex-officio member.
Speaking on the occasion, Zhovehü Lohe, former Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly, urged the CCRI office-bearers to ensure authenticity in their research work. “Everything you do should be based on the principle of truth,” he said, cautioning against false claims in historical documentation.
CCO President Kedoutsohi Wetsah said CCRI was established in 2000 at Chetheba under the banner of the Chakhesang Public Organization.
The programme was chaired by CCO General Secretary Vethikhoyi Khamo, while Rev. Dr. Thüjoneyi Veswuh, Associate Pastor of Chakhesang Baptist Church, pronounced the benediction.
